Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 24 July 2018 to Question 166178 on Acupuncture, what steps his Department is taking to maintain the provision of acupuncture services in the NHS.

Clinical commissioning groups have a statutory responsibility to commission cost effective health care for their patients. In doing so they use their clinical expertise to assess and prioritise those treatments, including acupuncture services, that provide the safest and most effective outcomes for the population as a whole.
