Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:
To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, what assessment his Department has made of the potential impact on the local housing market of extending the DLR from Gallions Reach to Thamesmead; and if he will make a statement.
Responsibility for the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) sits with the Mayor of London and Transport for London.
Government recognises the potential of the proposed extension of the DLR, and welcomes the partnership approach that is being taken. Government will continue to engage with partners, as they develop the evidence base.
Government understands that partners will assess the housing impacts of transport options as part of the initial business case that is currently being developed.
