Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, how much official development assistance he plans to allocate for delivery of his Department's International women and girls strategy 2023 to 2030, published on 8 March 2023, in the 2023-24 financial year.

There is no 2023/24 allocation for delivery against FCDO's International Women and Girls (IWG) Strategy. The FCDO Programme Allocations Written Ministerial Statement of 30 March [https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-statements/detail/2023-03-30/hcws705] states that the Government remains committed to delivering the priorities set out in the International Development Strategy (IDS). We continue to work towards the target on restoring funding for vital work on women and girls and the new target set out in the IWG Strategy for at least 80 per cent of the FCDO's bilateral aid programmes to have a focus on gender equality by 2030. FCDO will use all our levers, not only spend, on this agenda.
