Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she has (a) had discussions with relevant stakeholders and (b) set a target for the number of Indian nationals to be deported in talks with India on the Migration and Mobility Partnership MoU.

The Home Secretary signed the UK-India Migration and Mobility Partnership (MMP) on 4 May. We continue to discuss implementation arrangements with Government of India counterparts. Whilst the agreement contains a number of mutually beneficial provisions including measures that will improve the speed and efficiency of returns processes we have no targets pertaining to the return of Indian nationals and no deportation targets.
