On 23 July 2018, the Government announced the timetable for future CfD auctions with the next Pot 2 allocation round opening by the end of May 2019, and then an auction every 2 years. Depending on the price achieved, each CfD round could deliver 1 GW to 2 GW of new offshore wind every year in 2020s. This forward visibility and certainty can help businesses to plan and make the investment decisions they need, to be in a growing global sector, supporting our ambitious Industrial Strategy and helping to develop UK supply chains.
