Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what recent estimate he has made of the number of seafarer jobs in the UK which will receive support over the next five years under the National Maritime Security Strategy, published in August 2022.

The National Strategy for Maritime Security sets out the UK’s approach to maritime security over the next 5 years. Whilst the National Strategy for Maritime Security does not specifically cover support for seafarer jobs, it does provide a comprehensive overview on which government will base future activity, working with industry to tackle security challenges facing the global maritime community
