Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many applications for naturalisation her Department received in each year since 2010; and what the average processing time was for those applications in each of those years.
The Home Office publishes data on the number of applications received and the processing of applications for British citizenship on the Gov.uk website. This includes intake and performance against the six-month service standard for completing applications. The most recent Migration Transparency data published in February 2023 shows that 98.4% of straightforward applications were decided within six months.
