Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, whether she has made an assessment of the potential impact of moving asylum seekers to different hotels on the disruption to an individual's or family's daily routine; and if she will make a statement.
The overriding principle when allocating accommodation is that it is offered on a ‘no choice basis’, in line with our Allocation of Accommodation policy.
Caseworkers may receive requests to provide accommodation in a particular location due to exceptional circumstances. The Home Office’s policy in dealing with such requests is set out in the Allocation of Accommodation policy - Allocation of accommodation (publishing.service.gov.uk)
