Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will make an estimate of what hospital bed capacity will be in each region in each of the next five years.

It is for local National Health Service commissioners and providers, rather than the Department, to take decisions on local demand and capacity, including future hospital bed capacity, based on their assessments of local population and patient needs.

Our delivery plan for recovering urgent and emergency care services has set a national ambition to increase general and acute bed capacity by 5,000.

Reticulating Splines
