To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, pursuant to the Answer of 01 November 2018 to Question 185122 on In Vitro Fertilisation, if he will make an assessment of the potential merits of making mandatory National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines on the assessment and treatment of people with fertility problems.

We have no such plans. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s clinical guidelines help healthcare professionals deliver the best possible care based on the best available evidence. They focus on aspects of healthcare that are commissioned locally.
