Transnational illicit finance is a growing threat with grave human costs. It fuels conflict and organised crime and deprives developing countries of vital resources. As outlined in the Integrated Review Refresh 2023, the UK is championing global efforts to ensure that revenues and assets lost to illicit finance are identified and recovered, so that low- and middle-income countries can self-finance their own development.
