Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, whether any directors of Network Rail are entitled to (a) free rail travel and (b) rail staff travel facilities.

The Non-Executive Directors of Network Rail are not entitled to any free travel as a result of their position on the Board.

The Network Rail Executive Directors are entitled to apply for an annual or six-monthly interest free loan to purchase a home-to-work season ticket. The Executive Directors are also entitled to receive a 75% discount off train tickets for them and eligible family members for leisure travel in Great Britain. Both these benefits in kind are available to all Network Rail employees.
