Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what discussions he has had with his Malaysian counterpart on strengthening UK-Malaysian relations.
The UK and Malaysia have a long history of close friendship as members of the Commonwealth. The Foreign Secretary met Foreign Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir in London on 13 March where they discussed the shared commitment to the Commonwealth as a forum to address shared challenges. The Foreign Secretary also welcomed the UK's close collaboration with Malaysia on issues such as the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as well as cooperation through Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) as a dialogue partner.
