Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what assessment she has made of the potential impact of restrictions on organised Jewish prayer at Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount on freedom of religion or belief.

The UK recognises that Jerusalem, including the Haram Al-Sharif / Temple Mount, holds particular significance for many around the globe, especially the three Abrahamic faiths of Christianity, Islam and Judaism. We value Jordan's important role as custodian of the holy sites in Jerusalem. The UK is committed to working with all parties to maintain calm, avoid provocation and uphold the status quo to ensure the safety and the security of the Al Haram Al Sharif / Temple Mount and all who worship there.
