Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, if he will make an estimate of the number of police officers stationed at each major port in each part of the UK in each of the last 12 months.

The Home Office does not hold information on the number of police officers stationed at major ports.

Decisions on the size and deployment of the police workforce are operational matters for Chief Officers working with their Police and Crime Commissioners and taking into account local priorities.
