Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what criteria the Migration Advisory Committee will use to determine shortage occupations from 2021.
This question was answered on 2nd March 2020
The Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) has previously set out the methodology which it used when assessing the UK-wide and Scotland specific Shortage Occupation Lists, including in its most recent report published on 29 May 2019.
It will be for the MAC, which is independent of government, to determine whether to continue with the current methodology.
