Defence continues to develop options for a future Short Range Air Defence (SHORAD) capability with the Common Armoured Vehicle System informing the current planning assumptions. The SHORAD programme is considering lessons identified from contemporary conflicts and the evolving threat posed by uncrewed air systems. This work is separate to the UK’s Ballistic Missile Defence Capability.
