Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, how many people had to reapply for a theory test because their pass certificate expired in (a) 2018, (b) 2019, (c) 2020, (d) 2021 and (e) 2022.
This question was answered on 5th July 2023
The validity period of the theory test certificate is 2 years.
It is not possible to estimate how many of those will expire without the candidate being able to sit a practical test or having failed a driving test.
