Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what assessment she has made of the effectiveness of her Department's oversight of the waste industry.

Defra’s Resources and Waste Strategy sets two overarching objectives: to maximise the value of resource use; and to minimise waste and its impact on the environment. The waste industry is a key partner in helping deliver those two objectives and we work closely and constructively with it.
