Question to the Department for Education:

To ask the Secretary of State for Education, whether she has made a recent estimate of the potential impact of removing charitable status from independent schools on the number of students in schools in the state sector.

The Government has no plans to remove charitable status from independent schools. Therefore, no estimate has been made of the potential impact of such a change on the number of students who would move into the state sector.
