Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if he will make it his policy to take statutory steps to prevent the Welsh Government from introducing a default 20mph speed limit in built-up areas throughout Wales; and if he will make a statement.

Setting speed limits in Wales is a matter for the Welsh Government. Whilst I do not agree with the decision they have made, and would strongly oppose its introduction in the England, it is their decision to make.
