Question to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, what the average response time to subject access requests was by their Department in the latest period for which data is available; and if they will make an assessment of the adequacy of that response time.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport responded to Subject Access Requests (SARs) in an average of 20 days for the period from 1 January 2023 to 31 August 2023. This is within the legal time frame of one month for a reply.

This average figure includes some SARs where we sent a timely notification to the requestor advising that we were extending the time to respond beyond one month because the request was complex.
