Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, how many homes were demolished by in each local authority area; and how many new homes in each classification of (a) tenure (b) affordability were built on land released by demolition in each of the last five years.

Annual statistics on demolitions in England, and in each local authority district, are published in the Department’s live table 123 which is available at the following link.

Statistics on how many new homes were built on land released by demolition, in each classification of tenure and affordability, are not collected by the Department.
