Question to the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology:

To ask the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, which Department has responsibility for publishing the 2022-23 annual report of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy's; and when she expects that report to be published.

The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy's (BEIS) annual accounts for 2022-23 are being prepared by a cross departmental team covering the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero and the Department for Business and Trade. The accounts will formally be laid by the Treasury and it has been agreed they will be signed by the Permanent Secretary in DSIT, as the previous Accounting Officer for BEIS.

When the National Audit Office complete the audit the accounts will be laid in the normal manner and we anticipate this will be in mid October when the House returns. It will be for the successor departments to respond to any questions based on the relevant area.
