Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, how many people in Solihull constituency have been diagnosed with dementia in the last year.

When a diagnosis of dementia is made, it is shared with the patient’s general practice (GP). As of August 2023, on the central GP database there are 1,636 people living in Solihull with a confirmed diagnosis of dementia.

A count of registered patients aged 65 or over with a diagnosis of dementia in Solihull local authority and the percentage of practices participating in the collection in England, from July 2022 to July 2023, is displayed in the table below:
