Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to help ensure that the mental health needs of dementia patients in Solihull constituency are being addressed.

Birmingham & Solihull Integrated Care Board has advised that its local dementia strategy aims to address the mental health needs of people in Solihull living with dementia, aiming to provide support for carers and people with dementia and their families so they have clear, accessible information and support on how to live well with dementia. The strategy is available at the following link:

Additionally, there are two units available to Solihull patients with dementia that are uniquely skilled in being able to assist both patients and their family to manage and navigate the post diagnostic pathway.
