Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of 1 September 2023 to Question 196948 on Motorways: Speed Limits, whether the Chief Scientific Adviser gave advice to his Department on the potential effect of the 60mph speed limit trial on motorways on air quality.

National Highways did not engage with the Chief Scientific Adviser on the research into changes in car and van emissions under different driving conditions.
