Question to the Department for Education:
To ask the Secretary of State for Education, what estimate she has made of the number of domestic students commuting to university campuses in each of the last five years.
The Office for Students Size and Provision dashboard offers the closest approximation of commuter students available. It shows the proportion of full-time undergraduate entrants (domestic and international) that were local to their higher education (HE) provider prior to entry has remained around one in four between 2018/19 and 2021/22.
