Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what representations he has made to his Iranian counterpart on the detention of Golrokh Ebrahimi Iraee for insulting Islamic sanctities by advocating against the use of stoning as a punishment.
We have not made any representations on this specific case, however, the UK is committed to holding Iran to account on a wide range of human rights issues, through contact with the Iranian government and internationally through the EU and UN. We have also designated Iran as one of our Human Rights Priority Countries.
