Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, further to the correspondence, Local Audit Office chair: appointment of 1 July 2026, whether a declaration of political activity was made.

Candidates applying for public appointments are required to declare relevant political activity as part of their application. Where declared, political activity for successful candidates is publicly disclosed in line with the requirements of the Governance Code on Public Appointments.
