Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what recent discussions his Department has had with Chagossian communities (a) in the UK and (b) elsewhere on proposals relating to the sovereignty of the Chagos Islands; and if he will make a statement.

We recognise the sovereignty negotiations are an important issue for many Chagossians and we are updating Chagossian communities both in the UK and elsewhere as they progress, most recently earlier this month.
