Question to the Northern Ireland Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, what new actions were allocated to the Government at the summit meeting of the British-Irish Council in June 2014.

The British-Irish Council Summit of 13 June discussed the economy, the economic importance of transport links between Member Administrations and the on-going work of the British-Irish Council. As part of the discussion on the future work of the British-Irish Council, Ministers agreed that the Collaborative Spatial Planning work sector should continue to work together to identify opportunities for synergy with other work sectors of the Council. Separately, the Deputy Prime Minister and I also held discussions with the First and deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland on a range of current issues, including the party leader talks on flags, parading and the past.
