Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what steps his Department is taking to review the work of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
Ministers do not review any aspect of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman’s (PHSO) performance. The PHSO reports to Parliament directly and is held to account through the Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee, which, although unable to adjudicate on individual cases, holds an annual scrutiny session to evaluate the PHSO's performance.
