Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate he has made of how much compensation will be paid to (a) contractors, (b) rolling stock suppliers and (c) other business following the decision not to proceed with Phase 2B of the HS2 project.

The Department is working with HS2 Ltd and its supply chain to assess these implications as a result of the cancellation of Phase 2b.
