Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department plans to take to improve the diagnostic pathway for adults with autism in the autism statutory guidance.
This question was answered on 9th July 2014
A key action from Think Autism, the update to the 2010 Adult Autism Strategy for England, was that NHS England would help to drive up quality in autism diagnostic services. We intend that the forthcoming revised statutory guidance will continue to include the importance of having access to a diagnostic pathway and improving the quality of services for adults with autism.
