Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what estimate she has made of the number of people who have applied for entry clearance as (a) students and (b) family members of settled people including evidence of their knowledge of the English language through a Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) certificate obtained through Educational Testing Service and whose applications are on hold while their right to hold that qualification is tested.

Analysis by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and Home Office officials is
on-going and it is not possible to provide further data at present. As I stated
to the House on 24 June, the Home Office will provide regular updates on further
information we receive from ETS.
