Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, pursuant to the Answer of the 19 October 2023 to Question 202776 on High Speed 2 Line: Compulsory Purchase, how many (a) homes and (b) businesses were acquired through compulsory purchase orders on HS2 Phase 2a; and what was the total cost of those acquisitions.

The land that HS2 Ltd acquires via compulsory purchase orders is not categorised by whether it contains a home or a business. The total cost of acquiring land on Phase 2a via compulsory purchase or statutory blight as of 30 September 2023 is £136.51 million.
