Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what assessment he has made of the impact of the cancelation of the HS2 Phase 2 line between Birmingham and Manchester on the Alstom train factory in Derby.
This question was answered on 26th October 2023
Trains for phases beyond Phase 1 had not yet been ordered, and therefore there is currently no effect on the Alstom train factory. The Hitachi / Alstom joint venture has an order for delivery of the Phase 1 trains.
