During his visit to India in July 2014, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague) met with the Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj to discuss a wide range of issues, including civil nuclear cooperation. India welcomed the UK's strong support for their membership of the major export regimes, including the Nuclear Suppliers Group. There were no discussions on India joining the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
