Question to the Ministry of Defence:

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, how much his Department spent on legal fees in cases relating to the release of information requested under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 in each of the last five years.

The Ministry of Defence engages the Treasury Solicitor to provide legal advice and advice counsel in cases that have been appealed to the Information Tribunal under the Freedom of Information Act.
