Following the 2018 publication of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) Environmental Noise Guidelines for the European Region, the Government convened the Defra-led Interdepartmental Group on Costs and Benefits Noise Subject Group. This group is reviewing the evidence underpinning the WHO’s guidelines, together with more recent evidence and it will consider whether there are any necessary updates to relevant government guidance.
