Question to the Department for International Development:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Development, how many of her Department's projects involve indigenous communities in (a) all and (b) Commonwealth rainforests.

All of DFID's bilateral forestry programmes, and the multilateral forestry programmes DFID supports, include the participation of forest-dependent communities who are often indigenous people.

These programmes cover the following 6 Commonwealth rainforest countries: Belize, Cameroon, Ghana, Guyana, Papua New Guinea, and Uganda.
