Question to the Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade, pursuant to the answer of 23 June 2026 to Question 9609 on Intellectual Property: EU countries, whether HM Government is seeking to dynamically align with the EU in this field; and on which policy areas are discussions taking place.

Continued close collaboration with the European Union on intellectual property policy remains a priority for the government to help support wider economic growth across the whole of the UK.

The Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade and the Intellectual Property Office continues to engage with the European Union across intellectual property policy areas within their remit which includes copyright, patents, trade marks, designs and the enforcement of intellectual property rights.
