Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, if he will launch a consultation on banning the sale of fireworks to the public.

The Government’s first priority is public safety. We also recognise the traditional enjoyment that many people get from fireworks. The Government believes the existing legislation and guidance provides the right framework to allow for the safe use of fireworks by the public and we have no further plans to consult.
