Question to the Cabinet Office:

To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office, further to the Cabinet Office press release, AI to power change at the heart of government as Lord Vallance appointed chair of new PM AI Taskforce, of 24 July 2026, what are the differences in responsibilities and accountability structures between (a) Lord Vallance as Chair of the AI taskforce and (b) the Hon Member for Vale of Glamorgan leading the Taskforce.

AI Minister Kanishka Narayan will lead the AI Taskforce and attend Cabinet. Lord Vallance, as Chair, will bring together expertise from across government and industry, and report directly to the Prime Minister.
