We remain deeply concerned about the situation in the Central African Republic and have been working closely with the United Nations and other partners to ensure MINUSCA deploys with the expertise and resources it needs to carry out its mandate (UNSCR2149, April 2014). We are supporting close consultation with the African Union, to ensure a smooth transition from the African led International Support Mission to CAR (MISCA) to MINUSCA on 15 September, and we will continue to support UN efforts to bring MINUSCA to full strength as soon as possible.
