Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many recorded hit and run incidents where the driver was (a) caught and (b) not caught there have been in each of the last five years.

The Home Office does not hold data specifically on hit and run incidents, as these cannot be separately identified from other offences for which the Home Office does hold data. As a result, data cannot be provided on the number of these incidents where the driver has or has not been caught.
