Question
To ask the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, what estimate he has made of the number of homes in flood risk areas covered by the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency 25 Year Insurance-backed warranty.

The CIGA (Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency) 25 Year Insurance-backed warranty covers defects in material or workmanship in connection with the installation of the cavity wall insulation; the guarantee does not cover the effects of flooding. Recourse for the homeowner following the effects of flooding would usually be through buildings insurance and will of course depend upon the terms of individual agreements.
