Question to the HM Treasury:

To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, what the saving to the public purse will be from the removal of child benefit for households where one parent earns £50,000; and what estimate he has made of the increase in administration costs arising from such a policy.

The estimated annual fiscal saving as a result of the high income child benefit charge has been published by HM Treasury and the Office for Budget Responsibility at fiscal events.

The administrative costs of the high income child benefit charge were included in the National Audit Office 20/12-13 HMRC Standard Report:
