UK officials are in contact with several Syrian Kurdish groups and are aware of the concerns around the withdrawal of United States troops from Syria. As the US recognises, it is important that withdrawal is done in a way which allows the significant progress made in north-east Syria to be maintained. The UK remains committed to providing humanitarian assistance in north-east Syria. We will continue to work for a negotiated political settlement to the Syrian conflict protecting the rights of all Syrians.
